According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the amount of environmental protection expenses which was 21.4 billion Turkish Liras in 2013 exceeded 34 billion Turkish Liras as of the end of 2017. 29 million Turkish Liras of this figure consists of waste water management and waste management. İFO Fuarcılık Assistant General Manager Seda Bozkurt said: ‘‘Both official figures and our feedbacks from the sector clearly indicate that environmental investments will continue at full steam under any circumstances’’. She also emphasized that the environmental investments are expected to continue in 2019 as well, not only in Turkey but also in the nearby geography including the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa. Mrs. Bozkurt stated that the 15th edition of the Recycling, Waste Management and Environmental Technologies Fair REW Istanbul, which will take place next March with the contributions of the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning, attracts great interest particularly from foreign companies. The fair will present domestic and national technologies to the public sector, mainly the local authorities, and all kinds of companies generating waste due to their production activities.

As the leading environmental technologies event of Eurasia as organized every year since 2005 by Tarsus Turkey / İFO Fuarcılık regarding the main topics of “Solid Waste, Waste Water, Waste Gas and Green Energy’’; the 15th edition of the International REW Istanbul will take place on March 21st to 24th. The fair which brings together the domestic and national companies that shape the future of recycling with the global brands in this field will be visited by the sector professionals including major foreign buyers.
